Sea Turtle Workshop

At Sunny Shores Academy, we believe that hands-on experiences make learning more meaningful! Our Sea Turtle Workshop is an exciting opportunity for students to explore the world of sea turtles through interactive activities, creative projects, and engaging discussions.

Students began by sharing what they already knew about sea turtles and what they are curious to learn. We read a book about their habitat, life cycle, and the challenges they face in the wild. Through a fun guessing game, students identified different stages of the sea turtle’s life cycle, from eggs to hatchlings, juveniles, and adults.

Creativity took center stage as students designed their own sea turtle crafts, using a variety of materials to bring their turtles to life. They also participated in a math challenge, calculating the number of hatchlings from multiple nests—connecting real-world examples with STEM learning.

To wrap up, students shared their favorite sea turtle facts, tested their knowledge with an interactive Q&A, and a walk on the beach to search for nests and finally they received a certificate of completion to celebrate their learning. The workshop is a great mix of science, creativity, and exploration, inspiring students to continue learning about marine life.
